Well hopefully we’re all settled into the not so new ‘New Year’ now. With promises of some proper snow still flirting with us, minds are already turning to the fast approaching show season. To whet your appetites, we’ve got reports on three belters. We catch an early ferry onto the continent for the Aircooled Winterfest at Rosemarlen; the first big show of the year. Plus a couple of biggies from last season, including the Eastbourne Extreme Festival – Great for the thrill seekers, but our favourite part is that it incororates the Bus Stop VW Festival too. Then it’s a visit Stateside to the that blossom in the Mojave Dessert that is Las Vegas, for the annual Elite and Just Clean VW show… they don’t do things by half measures in Vegas!

We’re also road-tripping again – the Tigerbus is still far from home in Germany; instead it’s finishing off the last stretch of it’s trek across China and heading for the Mongolian border! Meanwhile, another T25 is busily touring Germany with the Raymond boys, still tired from a long drive from Lancaster followed by a spin round the Nürburgring, they finally meet up with their relatives and also get their first proper night’s sleep of the trip.

Back home, Del Day digs out some classic tracks for the perfect travelling companion as we load up the tape decks for our own road trip adventures, whilst Grant Wyness hikes out into the beautiful rugged landscape of Devon for some really wild gourmet in the elements.

As for our wonderful feature vehicles; well another fine lineup, from a real Californian surf-bus, immaculate Early Bay, to another Bay; this time an American import – it has a wonderfully aged exterior with a luxurious interior… but what’s going on with that front panel? From a pair of Bays to a ‘Tale of Two Splitties’ – we meet ‘Brian’ the ‘66 Camper and ‘Ruby’ the ’62 Crewcab, and what a handsome couple they make! We also have one of the cleanest unrestored examples of a 60’s Beetle you’re likely to see,
a luxurious and cool T5 Camper photographed in the beautiful Brecon Beacons, plus, not one, but five T4’s (well, six actually) as we meet a group of owners with some rather special artwork on their bonnets, plus the artist herself joins them with her own unique T4.

Another eclectic mix from the galaxy of Dub! It’s Issue 8… Enjoy!
